Frame 8.jpg

The problem

The navigation bar has not been updated in 10 years. Which includes; new menu items, organization, or mobile responsiveness.

Methods: Personas, Wireframes, Surveys, Journey Mapping, User Interviews, Prototyping.

Tools: Figma, Optimal Workshop, Zoom

Solution

The solutions are adding category titles to organize menu items, make the navigation bar mobile responsive, move some of the menu items to be more visible as an icon in the navigation bar with a notification indictor, and improvements to search bar.

UX artifacts

The UX artifacts that I started with was user personas and a journey map to better understand how the user needs to navigate through the software.

Usability testing

By conducting usability tests, I was able to refine what users were finding useful and change what they did not react well too. The users were asked general questions. This included, where users would access the help center (given options), thoughts around the current navigation bar and the design improvements, moving the message center icon.

To note: I made notes of the positive and negative feedback. This way I knew what areas to keep expanding and what users were resonating with.
